COMMITTEE MEMBER ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview: A Committee Member works in collaboration with a cohort of organizers to develop a specific aspect of TIGERRS (e.g., finance, fundraising, youth programs, events, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Attends regular committee meetings
    • Commits to serving on the committee for a minimum of 1 year
    • Communicates regularly with the rest of the TIGERRS crew
    • Is honest about capacity, wellness, needs, hopes, fears, jubilation
    • Maintains working knowledge of all aspects of the organization, including but not limited to mission, program activities, events, finances, strategy and volunteers
    • Leverages connections, networks, and resources to grow community investment and participation in the organization’s activities
    • Holds and centers the key values of TIGERRS (Found at https://tigerrs.org/philosophy/)

Stipend: $20 per month per committee, maximum of 3 committees

YOUTH PROGRAMS FACILITATOR ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview: A Youth Programs Facilitator works with youth to create a comfortable social support space. We run Teen TIGERRS (youth age 13-19, meets every Sunday 12:30pm-3:00pm) and Little TIGERRS (youth age 12 and under, meets the last Sunday of the month 10:00am-12:00pm).

Responsibilities
  • Co-facilitates 1-2 youth programs meetings per month with 2 other facilitators
    • Commits to serving as a facilitator for a minimum of 1 year
    • Communicates regularly with the rest of the TIGERRS crew
    • Is honest about capacity, wellness, needs, hopes, fears, jubilation
    • Creates and maintains healthy boundaries with youth
    • Holds and centers the key values of TIGERRS (Found at https://tigerrs.org/philosophy/)

Stipend: $20 per session, maximum of 2 sessions per month (except months with 5 Sundays)

OUR COMMITTEES

TIGERRS Committees are internal groups that focus work on certain topics. Here is a list of committees currently seeking new members:

Communications

Manages social media and other public-facing online presence, creates graphics, and creates marketing materials. We are looking for 2-3 people with experience in managing social media accounts, graphic design, or other creative skills to spread awareness about TIGERRS and its programs.

Events

Runs in-person or online intergenerational events like our Mondo Queer Beach Party, fundraisers, or other activities for the general community. We are looking for 2-3 people who are interested in helping set up for events, interact with the community, and run activities.

Fundraising

Raises money via individual donors, sustaining donors, grants, etc. We are looking for 2-3 people who have experience with donor management, acquiring sustaining donors, helping with donation campaigns and events, and seeking and writing grants.

Intersex Services

Creates programs and resources for the intersex community; currently focusing on trainings for healthcare providers. We are looking for 1-2 people with experience in creating professional development/continuing education trainings, support group development and public speaking. Intersex people are strongly encouraged to apply to this committee.

Outreach

Coordinates and manages volunteers, connects volunteers to other committees, partners with other organizations. We are looking for 1-2 people with experience in volunteer coordination, networking/partnerships, tabling and public speaking. We are particularly interested in recruiting someone to coordinate between the Outreach and Youth Programs committees.

Youth Programs

Plans, manages, and administers our youth programs, Teen TIGERRS and Little TIGERRS. We are looking for 1-2 people with experience in metric analysis and youth program development. We are particularly interested in recruiting someone to coordinate between the Youth Programs and Outreach committees.
